Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form goes to the third-party results provider. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services maintain routine logs such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand readership. Cookies or similar technology may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operating and repairing the reference, measuring traffic, and improving its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
County and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools follow their own privacy policies. Those policies govern information submitted on their services, including sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service-Provider Access
Providers that host or support the reference may process routine server logs. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Safeguards
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and routine logs are retained only as needed for the stated purposes. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles maintained here.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information, and we will delete it.
Your Information Choices
Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that this reference holds through the Contact page. Because we retain very little, we will check the contact mailbox and relevant logs, then remove information we find where appropriate. Research did not identify a comprehensive Ohio consumer-privacy deletion statute; R.C. Chapter 1354 concerns cybersecurity, not a universal public-record erasure right. Government records are controlled by their custodians under Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, and any correction or redaction request belongs with the office holding that record.
Policy Changes
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after a posted revision signifies acceptance of the revised policy.
